China Glaze's Aquadelic & OPI Navy Shatter

As mentioned in my China Glaze's Aquadelic Nails post I have now applied OPI's Navy Shatter on top.

At first I wasn't too sure if I liked the combination because I really liked the bright blue of the Aquadelic, and the Navy Shatter really darkened my nails. However now I have changed my mind, and really like how they look.

It's kind of weird but I actually like shattered nails better once it has been worn for a couple days and had faded around the edges a little.

Here are some pictures of my nails...

Shatter or Crackle is a quick & easy way to give your nails a funky look. I personally find darker shatter's to look better on brighter, lighter colors. Neon shades would work really well too.

Nails... China Glaze's Iguana Blue

This weeks nail color of choice was a blue. I find I have all these ideas about colors during the week for my nails and once I go to do them, I draw a blank??

My color today is by China Glaze and it is called Iguana Blue. It is a beautiful bright blue with tiny blue sparkles. Its a shade I would call a honest and true blue. Iguana Blue is from the Island Escape (2011) collection.

Both of my pinky fingers have Black Mesh Crackle (also by China Glaze) on top of the Iguana Blue. I didn't really like the way it had turned out so I chose to do only the two fingers. (I find the trick with crackle is to make sure you use a really bright color underneath. I like to use neon's. The crackle will tone down the color.)

Here is what it looks like...

Just simple blue nails. I really like this shade of blue on its own, but will probably jazz them up more later this week.

Nails... Pink on Pink Crackle

I had done a post earlier last week when I had gotten my nails painted pink. A shade I haven't got in a long time. I used China Glaze's Shocking Pink. I rocked my neon pink nails for a couple of days but decided to switch it up with some crackle.

Using one coat of China Glaze's pink crackle, Heart Broken, I created a whole new look for my nails.

I was extremely happy with this color combo. I have come to find I like the crackles more in matte colors. As well they have to be on top of neon or bright colors.

Here is what my nails looked like after being cracked.
(Again, in need of a new camera... hint hint xmas. lol. My pics really dont turn out the best at all due to the qaulity of the focus, and zoom. Sadness.)

Hope this inspires you to try new color combinations when experimenting with crackle.

Nails... Do You Lilac It /w Latticed Lilac Crackle

As promised I said I would update my nail look for the week when I decided to try my beautiful Latticed Lilac on top of it. I decided to only put the crackle on my ring fingers. My reasoning? I didn't want to over do it, and completely loose my pastel lilac color.

Here's what they look like...

Still super lovin this pretty purple. I love the crackles, but find that they sometimes over power the shade underneath, especially if the crack has some kind of sparkle or metallic.

Super kawaii. ;P

Coming soon! China Glaze Crackle... Metals

Set your summer style to “sizzle” with China Glaze’s new Crackle Glaze Metals collection. The pioneer in crackle technology, China Glaze takes the beauty phenomenon to the next level with this second-generation polish that pairs the edgy innovation of crackle with the elegant beauty of metals.

I am soooo excited for this collection. So far thought out the whole Crackle/Shatter phase, I have really only grabbed 2 polishes. One is China Glaze Crackle, and the other is a OPI Shatter. One of the reasons I haven't gotten myself more is for the simple fact that at first they were hard to get a hold of. They were sold out everywhere, and one of the most popular trends for nails in a long time.

China Glaze Crackle... Broken Hearted Review

About a week ago I was shopping around with my sister Amanda. We always stop by Sally's Beauty Supply. Today we happened to be asking around to see if anyone had any of the China Glaze Crackle. I have been looking for it for a couple of weeks now, and haven't been having very much luck. Well today they managed to have one left in the pink, Broken Hearted. Of course I took what I could get and jumped on it.
