Mosaic Art Music Video by Jessica Sole

A couple weeks ago I was given the opportunity to work with the talented Jessica Sole on her very first music video for her song Mosaic Art. This video was made for a beautiful song with a strong message. I was more then happy to be apart of something so thoughtful and something clearly so special to Jessica and her family.

Once Mosaic Art is released I will be sure to post the full video here on my blog. Until then here are some behind the scene shots from Mosaic Arts one day shoot!

Today's Look... Saturday Night

Hope everyone is enjoyed their weekend. One of the looks I wore this past weekend, for me personally is pretty natural- minus my lips. I love a simple look like this because it is pretty easy to do and can be worn with a natural lip or something a little more bold, like a bright pink, or dark plum purple. It just depends what type of look your looking to pull off.

This look is also very easy to transition from day to night. You can darken and create a smokier eye by adding a little bit of black liner to your lower lash line. Then add a little bit of black shadow or a shade of shadow darker then what was originally worn on the outer corners of your lid. Apply your darker shadow there, and blend. This should create a darker smokier eye. Also apply a bolder lipstick shade for that pop of colour. Perfect for that Friday night out after work, or those last minute plans on Saturday.

Today’s Look… Shimmering Violets

Simple but super fun, this look is young and flirty. With bright pops of color and light catching shimmer this look is great for almost any out.

Like many “day” looks you can transition this makeup into something a little suited for a night out just by simply adding some darker eye shadow just on the outside corners of your eye. You can also adjust your eyeliner or add lashes for a bolder effect.

Remember you can always tone down your look just by using a more natural lip color or maybe choosing an eyeliner that isn’t as bold.

Today's Look... I kissed a Smurf

Today I was limited with the amount of time I had to do my make up but still wanted to rock something that was bold and colourful.  I decided to do a super simple eye with a bold Blue lip.

Wild lip colours have been on trend for a while now, especially over this past summer. You can pretty much get anyway with any shade of lip colour right now. This trend or look seems to work best when you pair it with a really simple and neutral eye.

Today's Look... You're Eyes at Sunset

Today I am keeping true to my recent promise to start creating bright vibrant looks on myself again. Without meaning to I used colors that resemble shades seen in a tropical sunset.

I had so much fun creating this look that I included a quick step by step guide to show you how to recreate this fun but sexy tropical sunset eye.

Sooo I know for many new make up artists a big question is always what company offers a pro discount? How much and to exactly whom? Do I qualify??

Over the past couple of days I have been compiling a list of cosmetic companies that offer a professional discount. Below I have listed how much of a discount is offered and what you need to apply. Click on the brand name to be taken to their pro page.

Today's Look... Blue Jays

A couple days ago I went down to Toronto to watch the Blue Jays vs. Detroit Tigers, my boyfriends team. We had a lot of fun, and it was a great game, but sadly the Jays lost.

Thinking of the game I wanted to keep my make up light because it was a warmer day, but still wanted to include some blue to represent my team.

Today's Look...Frosty Blues

Originally I had a completely different idea for my make-up today. I was originally using Neon Yellow & Black but just wasn't happening for me so I decided to switch to this Blue, frosty creation.

Film & Television Class Photo Shoots

A few weeks ago I finished my Film & Television course in school. Just like at the end of every other course completed thus far we gotten the opportunity to have 2 photo shoots, showcasing our work. I was given complete creative freedom when it came to style and direction, as well as make up and costume design.

My first photo was of a tribal angel wing tattoo. I was looking for a large back piece that would be simple but bold with a obvious message or symbol. This make up was straight forward but took plenty of time to fill in. The hardest part would have to of been trying to keep the lines as straight as possible.

Model: Evan

My second photo was my version of the Batman character "Two Face". I was definitely trying to go for a more realistic take on what he could have looked like as a character. This photo is one of my favourite make ups and photos I have had taken during school. I was extremely happy and proud of the out come. However with that said there are always things you can improve & learn from.

Model: Evan

Just wanted to give a special thanks to my handsome model Evan for coming to school with me and letting me put a whole bunch of uncomfortable products on your face & of course to Danielle; Photographer & Editor.

Don't forget to follow me on Instagram for more pictures and daily updates.

Theatre Class Photo Shoots

Two weeks ago I had completed my Theatre course at Complections. We had our photo shoots within the last couple days of the course and got our final prints back on Wednesday.

Doing these photo shoots for school was quite exciting because I got to control the creative direction.

My first photo shoot was based off prints made by artist,  Roy Lichtenstein. My model was meant to look as much like the printed comic as possible.

My idea was to play on the tears already rolling down her cheeks and really see the sadness in her eyes. She was meant to look like she was almost at a funeral. I also choose to dress her in all black to contrast from her colourful make-up and hair.

Model: Amanda F

My second photo shoot was created around the idea of doing a shoot in UV black light. I have always loved  black lighting, as well as any glow in the dark art or paint.

I had chosen to do a tiger lady because I wanted to create a image that would be simple but bold and powerful. I also need something that was still bright enough to leap off the page.

Model: Camille H

A lot of work went into these photo shoots on everyone's part. I would like to send out a very special thanks to Amanda & Camille for coming down to Complections and volunteering their time to model for me.
Thank you so very much!!

Current course: Film & Television... blog to come soon. :)

IMATS HAUL!! Makeup Forever: Aqua Color (Water Proof Cream Color) Review

The Aqua Cream is an ultra-pigmented, long-lasting waterproof cream. Highly concentrated in mother-of-pearl pigments, it provides an immediate color intensity with a luminous finish. Its long-lasting formula will not crease or smudge under the most extreme conditions. Available in 22 shades.

At IMATS this year I stopped by the Makeup Forever booth, of course and spotted the Aqua Cream, Waterproof Color. I've been looking at this particular product for quite sometime, and was excited to finally get to try it. To no surprise it was amazing. All the colors are amazing, and show up on any skin tone beautifully. The color and product last forever unlike most eyeshadows or creams that fade through out the wear and tear of the day.
