Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks Review

A few weeks ago I had found myself inside a Sephora for the first time in quite a long time. Two items I have been specifically on the hunt for have been an long lasting liquid lipstick, and a great highlighter. I had enough time to check out almost every cosmetic line, as I like to. I have already tried quite a few liquid lipsticks and have found a variety of problems with all of them. Kat Von D was one of the few brands I had yet to try out when it came to the liquid lipstick category, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised.

(Left to Right) Nosferatu & Lovecraft
I have tried a few of KVD's products such as her eye shadow palettes, lipsticks, and lip glosses. Over all I didn't get the quality I was hoping for, but was most disappointed in the lipsticks and glosses. The lipsticks didn't last, and color pay off was barely there. The glosses were tacky and sticky making them super annoying to wear. Since then I have seen some huge improvements. I've seen the quality of the Kat Von D products go up 100%.

I first decided to swatch the everlasting liquid lipsticks in store to see which color seemed to last, and what they actually looked like out of the tube. I was happy to see her most vibrant colors seemed to stay the best. Some colors even stained my skin forcing me to use an oil based remover to get it off. I was also happy to see a wide variety of colors. They range from more natural and muted tones, all the way to vibrant reds and electric blue and purples. I chose to purchase a deep red called Nosferatu & a more neutral tone called Lovecraft.

Once I got home and was able to apply the lipsticks to my lips I found them to be very light. By light I mean you don't get that caked on feeling. Your lip do not feel like they are wear a coat of something. The lipstick also does not dry out your lips. As long as you apply your liquid lipstick to clean dry lips, your lipstick should stay in place and not crack or dry. The liquid lipstick also apply to lips very smoothly. The lipstick itself is very creamy and smooth making it easy to move and spread. Lastly Kat Von D's everlasting liquid lipstick ever-lasted! It lasted hours! When I say hours I am not over exaggerating. It last through out me talking, working, drinking, and eating my dinner. Yes, you will have to touch it up after fully eating, however touch ups are minor and typically just in the center of the lips.

Lovecraft & Nosferatu

Lovecraft / Nosferatu
You can find Kat Von D's liquid lipsticks at Sephora, or anywhere KVD make up is sold. One everlasting liquid lipstick at Sephora will run you $26 CND / $20 US. As far as pricing goes for the quality and amount of product you get I say this is very fair. The tube are actually pretty long, and are completely filled.

Lovecraft

Nosferatu

Over all I was very happy with my experience testing Kat Von D's everlasting liquid lipstick. I am very excited to purchase more shade for my kit. It has honestly become my go to lipstick because of how light it feels on your lips and how long it lasts.

I hope you found this review helpful, if not at least entertaining. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions please feel free to leave a comment below.

Today's Look... Naturally

A fabulous friend of mine gave me some awesome Quo palettes. One palette is a Bronzer, while the other is a eye shadow palette.

There are 2 bronzer colors. Both of which are lovely. My favorite color in the eye shadow palette was this beautiful Red-Brown. I hadto give it a try. It is the shade that is on my lid. There will be a review forboth of these palettes.

Today's Look... Helena Beat

Today my makeup was a struggle. This was the second attempt at it for the day. I originally was using green, blue and purple, but in the end decided to narrow the lid color to blue and purple, and bring the green down to my lower lid.

The colors I used where inspired from some other amazing looks I have seen recently. I named it Helena Beat because today I have been obsessed with that song by Foster the People. (lol) <3

Here's what I managed to come up with...

Paperself Eyelashes

A few weeks ago while surfing around online, I was look at Sephora's website, and gazed upon something I have never seen before... Paper False Eyelashes. Okay, don't get me wrong, I have seen these before but in magazines, and high fashion art, not at my local mall.

These awesome paper lashes are made by a company called Paperself based out of the UK. I am so happy to finally know where I can get myself a pair.

These super cute lashes are priced anywhere between $17-$19 a pair. Yes, this is pricey for a set of false eyelashes, but right away you can tell these are special. The delicate lashes, paint beautiful pictures across your eyes, something most lashes can't create.

There is a wide variety for you to choose from. Everything from Under the Sea, Butterflies, Blossoms, and my favorite Peacocks!

These lashes are so darling, I had to share. They are always bound to make a statement in any room.

To find them you can follow the links below:

Urban Decay: Quickie; Afterglow Check Tint Review

Finally! Sheer, buildable cheek tints that glide on and feel weightless – (never heavy or greasy like your grandma’s cream blush). Our techy-feeling tint applies effortlessly on top of any foundation or bare skin… no pulling or rubbing needed to make it look right. And you’ll never get that powdery, cakey look that sometimes comes from powder blush. Our modern, yummy shades include a shameless hot pink, a super-healthy berry and natural peachy tints, to name a few. The formula is loaded with good-for-you ingredients like Vitamin E, Vitamin C and Vitamin A, so your skin gets nourished and protected. The color goes on more sheer than it looks in the pan, but since its so buildable, YOU control how much you want to blush. We also love to blend two shades together to mimic a natural flushed effect. Whether you’ve been a fan of cream blush in the past or not, the shades, the silky formula and the little foil snake on the top of our compact will definitely make you a believer.

Included in a lot of my Sephora shopping experiences comes samples. Some I could care less about and other actually excite me to try. This sample was one of the few I was actually looking forward to. I got a sample for Urban Decays Afterglow Cream Blush. Unlike many blushes this one is cream based allowing you to place color exactly where you want, and build up the color on your cheeks.

This sample came in a very tiny little dot, with the signature Urban Decay purple paper wrapped around it. The shade I received is called Quickie. Quickie is bright barbie pink.

Today's Look... Green Smoke (Wicked Witch of the West)

Today's Look... Gold Slick

Continuing in the theme of gold today, I wanted to try something I have never done before. Ive seen people like Kat Von D, and other bloggers online try somewhat the same look. Basically what I did was have my right eye look different from my left eye, but still kinda match. Ill show you what I mean...

I decided to go with black and gold, being two classic color that look great on most eyes. Also using black or a darker shade allowed me more room to create a smokey effect. I really like the way it turned out. :)

Today's Look... Bubble Gum Yum

This look is defiantly the biggest super-bubble-pop look Ive ever done. It almost reminds me of a Barbie Doll. I didn't intentionally do this. I was just trying to do something nice, but simple before work. I wanted to use one of my Sugarpill Sample again, and choose the lipstick, simply cuz it was something different and went along with my eyes.

Here is what I came up with....

Today's Look... Neon Rainbow

This past weekend I headed out to Detroit for a wedding shower. It was way too short, but tons of fun. I'm happy I was able to go. I wanted to do some really fun, bright makeup for the party so I decided to bring along my Sleek Makeup Acid iDivine Palette. I love this palette not only for the colors, but for the size. Sure your actually product size is smaller, but it's so easy to travel with. It fit right into your makeup.

I will say this look is a lot like the look I did when I first got this palette, Acid Melt.

Here is what I came up with...

Today's Look... A View to a Kill

Today's look is a combination of wanting to try the blues in my Sleek Makeup Acid iDivine Palette and a influence of Duran Duran. Duran is coming back to Toronto on Oct 27/11, and I am VERY VERY excited. (It shall be the 3rd time I have seen them... and I wasn't born til 89. Think about that one. ;)

Either way this look is darker, from what I usually do. I used different shades of blue and silver on the eyes, with dark purple lips. I was listening to A View to a Kill while taking the pictures for this blog. (LOL) (Sorry for poor quality, my camera battery was dead.) Check it out...

Sephora Eyeliners

A couple weeks ago I had placed a order to Sephora. I was looking to try out Too Faced Shadow Insurance, but also picked up a few eyeliners along the way. Sephora was selling their liners for $1.00 each, so of course I couldn't resist. I got myself a bunch of jumbo eyeliners, and a few standard size ones, both of which come in a great selection of colors.

For more pictures & information about the liners follow the link below...

Today's Look... Sea Foam

Today’s looked was based simply off contrast. My hair is very pink and black, my nails are Lilac Purple, so I wanted my eyes to be something different. I was also looking for a excuse to use my new eyeliners from Sephora.

Here what I managed to come up with….

Sorry I haven't been posting very many looks recently. All of my makeup has been pretty low key. Its been all very natural tones, and quick looks just to get my through the day.

Hopefully **crosses fingers** I will be getting my new Sleek Makeup Acid iDivine Palette soon. As well as a haul from Sephora including a bunch of jumbo & regular sized liners. Also as mentioned yesterday I picked up one of the O.C.C six packs of Lip Tars.

All of course will have reviews and looks to match. I am very excited for what I have coming up. XD

Stila;Trendsetting in Tokyo & Kat Von D's Autograph Eyeliner

Today I got a lovely little gift, via myself (lol) from Sephora. I knew it would be coming in today and was very excited. I had my eye on the Tokyo Set for a little while now. Sadly it was sold out for a while, but has now come back into stock. I was also extremely excited to FINALLY be trying Kat Von D's eyeliner because of all the raving I have been hearing about it. I have heard very good things for this product. Unfortunately the color I wanted was sold out, but I was able to grab another. :)

Either way I have managed to swatch and take pictures of all the colors. I also managed to use all the colors, and both products today. Over all I was very happy with the results. First up is my very first Stila product. Tokyo Palette, next will be Kat Von D's Autograph Eyeliner.

Today's Look... Neutral Blues.

This is the look I created using a sample I received from Sephora a loooong time ago. The color palette I had to use were golden brows and greeny blues.

You can find the review for this sample here: http://warpaintluv.blogspot.com/2011/02/sephora-sample-neutral-blues.html

Here's what it looks like...

Listed below are other products I used for this look, as well as more photos!!

Sephora Sample: Neutral Blues

With a purchase I had made quite a while ago, as most stores do I got a couple samples on my way out. One of which was a quick palette of four Sephora High Intensity shadows. The packaging boasts about it vibrant color and long lasting quality.

I will be doing a brief review of the colors, as well as posting a look I created using all four colors.
