Caleb & Joshua's Crusade for Change 2015 (Sick Kids Hospital Foundation)

Last Thursday I was lucky enough to be part of an awesome yearly event called Caleb & Joshua's Crusade for Change, a fundraiser for Sick Kids Hospital. These two little boys are brothers and trying to make a change for the better.

For the past two years they have held annual fundraising events to raise money for Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. For these two little boys it doesnt stop there. They have taken it upon themselves to come up with other fun and creative ways to raise money for Sick Kids through out the year.

This year the Crusade for Change was held at a Chapters Indigo in Brampton. Many people came out to support a great cause. 100 books were purchased to be donated back to the hospital!! As well as 10% of registered purchases being donated as well.

I was lucky to have been part of these awesome events the 2 years they have been running. I love donating my time & facing painting skills to such an awesome cause.

For more information on Caleb & Joshua's Crusade for change please check out their facebook page at http:/www.facebook.com/crusadeforchange

Quick Update: Face Painting

In a previous blog post I had mentioned that I would be face painting for a kids banquet, past Sunday.

I was really worried about how long it would take me to paint each child. I knew there would be a lot of kids, and not enough time. I was also worried that I would just out right suck. Before this I had never tried my hand at face painting and didn't know if I would crack under the pressure.

I am happy to report that it was a great success. Arriving there I was pretty nervous, but really didn't have a lot of time to think about it. Once I had set myself up, my sign up sheet was already filling up. I was surprised that I did a lot of arm painting. A lot of kids wanted words, or sayings. Snakes wrapping around the arm was really popular as well. As far as actual face painting there was a lot of butterflies for the girls, and bats/batman for the boys. Sadly I would have to say batman was probably my weakest work that day. :( Oh well...

Once I had got the hang of painting different people (from babies to adults) and had a feel for what people expected I actually started to have a lot of fun. I hope to continue to practice, and hopefully get better and maybe start doing this as side work.

I wish I had taken more pictures. To be honest I only took one picture all day!!! I know right. :/ I just didn't really have the time, trying to get through as many people as possible. The picture I did take have to be my two favourite faces. My tiger ladies....

This is some practice work I did the night before...

All together I had a great time face painting for all those kids. It was a great experience and something I would defiantly do again.

Update: Face Painting & Prom Season

Ello everyone.

I know that I have not been around these past few months. Truthfully more like since the beginning of the year. I think this has been a combination of actually being busy, and plain laziness at times. I think I actually needed a break for a little while there, and I just let that break drag on far too long.

I have quiet a few blogs I am hoping to post very soon. First I wanted to update you all on my latest project; Face Painting.  This coming weekend at work we are having quite a few children come in from out Jr. Program. They are having a end of the year beach party, and I was asked if I would do some face painting. I thought this could be a fun challenge  that would only make me better at what I already love doing.

I had to start from scratch when it came to makeup and brushes. To be completely honest I am still not completely ready for this Sunday. I still need to buy many more brushes, as well as a couple little things I want to add. However, I have been practising since I got my product in the mail. I decided to order from Diamond FX. I got almost every basic color they had in the 32g pans. I will also be using my UV Dayglow Palette from Kryolan, as well as different types of makeup safe sparkles & glitter.

Here is a couple pictures of me practising. My poor boyfriend, Evan was kind enough to let me paint his face.

I will be sure to post lots of pictures of the kids. I am kinda nervous but super excited at the same time. I think my biggest worry is my timing. I'm sure Ill have quite a few kids to go through and only 2 hours or so to do so.

If anyone knows of any websites that have simple face painting idea's for kids, please comment below. I would love to check them out.

Also I'm excited to say I will be doing Taylor's, a co-worker of mine, makeup for prom on Friday night. She wants to keep her look very natural, but I'm going to see if we can glam it up a bit for prom. I again will make sure to post lots of pictures. Well, as many as she will let me take. ;)

Face Painting!!

On Sunday one of the kids programs at work finished up for the season. They had a BBQ, Awards, Bowling, & Face Painting.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get my face painted. There were far too many kids ahead of me in line. There wasn't enough time.

They did some great face painting, as well as sparkling tattoos. (I'm really not too sure of the actual name for these stick on sparkles, but I'm going to call them sparkling tattoos.
