Mosaic Art Music Video by Jessica Sole

A couple weeks ago I was given the opportunity to work with the talented Jessica Sole on her very first music video for her song Mosaic Art. This video was made for a beautiful song with a strong message. I was more then happy to be apart of something so thoughtful and something clearly so special to Jessica and her family.

Once Mosaic Art is released I will be sure to post the full video here on my blog. Until then here are some behind the scene shots from Mosaic Arts one day shoot!

Head Shots for Lauren Saarimaki

Last Friday I got to do some make-up and hair for some head shots for the lovely Lauren Saarimaki. Head shots are typically used for "talent" like actors and dancers. They are suppose to give a pretty good idea as to what the person looks like naturally as well as a feel for what they could be. Typically make-up and hair are pretty straight forward for a photo shoot like this.

Below is one of the many beautiful photos from her shoot.

As always just wanted to show off how beautiful Lauren looks. Thanks for letting me paint your face lovely! Always a pleasure.

In Nemus

Last month I had the opportunity to work on a video called "In Nemus" for a talented Toronto dance group. This video was created and directed by Alix Kell.

As I am sure you'll be able to notice the video has a slight Alice in Wonderland theme, which is always fun. This was definitely a more creative and fun shoot, filled with colourful and wild hair and make-up.

Below is a link to the video. Hope you enjoy!

Created & Directed by Alix Kell

Dancers: Alix Kell, Emily Law, Caddy Superville & Ashley Perez.

MU & Hair: Sarah Geraldes & Diana Lazic

Camera/Shooting: Ryan Buan

I had a great time working on this project with these very talented girls. Special thanks to Diana, for helping with hair and make-up, it was definitely a group effort. And of course to the girls for letting us be apart of their project.

Happy New Year!! Welcoming 2016.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Hope everyone has had a fabulous holiday seaon filled with lots of love, joy and laughter.

This year I plan on truly bringing War Paint Luv back to life. Yes, last year (even before last year) I began to slack a little on the amount of entires I was posting in my blog. It was for a lack of interet. Life had simply become busy and my attention was needed else where.

Now Im back and this year I will be posting at least two weekly blogs. One being brand and collection related and the other being a "Look of the Day". Of course there will be plenty of other beauty related posts to be seen such as nail blogs and product reviews.

As always I am open to suggestion so If you have a specific idea or topic you would like to see written about please email me at warpaintsarah@gmail.com.

I am truly excited about 2016. I look forward to this year bringing lots of fun and adventure. Best wishes to you all.

Crystal Countess Photo Shoot

A few weeks ago I was asked by a friend of mine if I would be interested in doing make up for a photo shoot he was organizing. This shoot was for his jewellery company Crystal Countess.

My friend, Bryan designs & creates beautiful crystal jewellery pieces for a wide span of events and occasions. He designs everything from earrings and necklaces to tiaras and head jewels.

I was so excited to be apart of this photo shoot because Bryan is SO creative and outgoing. I just knew his vision would have a awesome outcome and would be so much fun.

I really enjoyed being able to do two contrasting looks on each girl. It’s a great way to show two different ways these jewellery pieces can be worn. I hope to post more pictures from this shoot as they are released.

In the mean time if you wish to check out Crystal Countess you can find them here on Facebook or on Instagram.

Finally attending school... Complections College of Makeup Art & Design

I have been meaning to write this blog for quite sometime and just couldn't find the time, or space to sit down and write it.

I basically want to explain why I haven't posted very much in the last few months. I believe I may have spoken about attending school in past entry's but have not fully explained or spoke about what I've learned so far.

Starting on Oct 1st 2012 I began to attend a school in Toronto called Complections. This school specializes in make-up art and design. I have chosen their 26 week Comprehensive course which will cover Fashion Photographic make-up, Film & Television make-up, Theatrical make-up, Facial Hair & Knotting, Prosthetic make-up, and a short course on styling hair.

Foolish Hair Up-do!

Its prom season and this year side pony tails, and messy braid was what girls were looking for. That simple, down home look. My sister was itching to do a fancy up-do so last week I got together with Amanda. I went over to her house and played around with some long ass hair extensions she had got me. (I am a very lucky girl, and love my bomb hair dressin sister!! <3)

That night I was lucky enough to get my dye job touched up, feathers put in my hair, and have this awesome up-do.

So the idea/theme for this up-do or look would be a really rad, neon, raver wedding. :D This blog is more so a show & tell, then a how-to.  I am a hair klutz. (Only thing I could show you how to do is a bow. lol)

For many more pix, and where to get your hair done by this lovely lady check the link below...

Funky Rainbow Hair... Zing!

Ladies and Gentlemen, today I got my hair done! (Thank god!!) My wick amazing sister Amanda was kind enough to take me for the day and do my hair. I can’t thank her enough for all the hard work and time she has spent over the years on my hair. Thank you for letting me be your doll! J

I don’t know how it happened but magic did. My hair is so bomb… if I do say so myself. I’m not trying to sound cocky; I was just really looking forward to it and LOVE the results!
