Today's Look... Saturday Night

Hope everyone is enjoyed their weekend. One of the looks I wore this past weekend, for me personally is pretty natural- minus my lips. I love a simple look like this because it is pretty easy to do and can be worn with a natural lip or something a little more bold, like a bright pink, or dark plum purple. It just depends what type of look your looking to pull off.

This look is also very easy to transition from day to night. You can darken and create a smokier eye by adding a little bit of black liner to your lower lash line. Then add a little bit of black shadow or a shade of shadow darker then what was originally worn on the outer corners of your lid. Apply your darker shadow there, and blend. This should create a darker smokier eye. Also apply a bolder lipstick shade for that pop of colour. Perfect for that Friday night out after work, or those last minute plans on Saturday.

Today’s Look… Shimmering Violets

Simple but super fun, this look is young and flirty. With bright pops of color and light catching shimmer this look is great for almost any out.

Like many “day” looks you can transition this makeup into something a little suited for a night out just by simply adding some darker eye shadow just on the outside corners of your eye. You can also adjust your eyeliner or add lashes for a bolder effect.

Remember you can always tone down your look just by using a more natural lip color or maybe choosing an eyeliner that isn’t as bold.

Today's Look... I kissed a Smurf

Today I was limited with the amount of time I had to do my make up but still wanted to rock something that was bold and colourful.  I decided to do a super simple eye with a bold Blue lip.

Wild lip colours have been on trend for a while now, especially over this past summer. You can pretty much get anyway with any shade of lip colour right now. This trend or look seems to work best when you pair it with a really simple and neutral eye.

Today's Look...

Hi everyone!! Sorry I keep disappearing. This summer I got signed onto a new TV show that will be airing in October. Can't wait to blog about it. Coming soon...

With that said this fall I will be committing more time to my blog and posting more looks, reviews and other awesome goodies!! Now onto some make up...

Today was the first time in a while that I actually went full out on my own make up. I miss having the time to do my make up the way I usually want to wear it. This look is very similar to the last one I posted, with slight differences. This smokey but colorful look is super fun to wear and easy to do.

Today's Look... Blue Jays

A couple days ago I went down to Toronto to watch the Blue Jays vs. Detroit Tigers, my boyfriends team. We had a lot of fun, and it was a great game, but sadly the Jays lost.

Thinking of the game I wanted to keep my make up light because it was a warmer day, but still wanted to include some blue to represent my team.

Today's Look...Frosty Blues

Originally I had a completely different idea for my make-up today. I was originally using Neon Yellow & Black but just wasn't happening for me so I decided to switch to this Blue, frosty creation.

Theatre Class Photo Shoots

Two weeks ago I had completed my Theatre course at Complections. We had our photo shoots within the last couple days of the course and got our final prints back on Wednesday.

Doing these photo shoots for school was quite exciting because I got to control the creative direction.

My first photo shoot was based off prints made by artist,  Roy Lichtenstein. My model was meant to look as much like the printed comic as possible.

My idea was to play on the tears already rolling down her cheeks and really see the sadness in her eyes. She was meant to look like she was almost at a funeral. I also choose to dress her in all black to contrast from her colourful make-up and hair.

Model: Amanda F

My second photo shoot was created around the idea of doing a shoot in UV black light. I have always loved  black lighting, as well as any glow in the dark art or paint.

I had chosen to do a tiger lady because I wanted to create a image that would be simple but bold and powerful. I also need something that was still bright enough to leap off the page.

Model: Camille H

A lot of work went into these photo shoots on everyone's part. I would like to send out a very special thanks to Amanda & Camille for coming down to Complections and volunteering their time to model for me.
Thank you so very much!!

Current course: Film & Television... blog to come soon. :)

Today's Look... Into the Blue

Today's look was inspired by some of the colors found in Sugar Pill's new Heart Breaker palette. I have been extremely excited about this palettes arrival. As most know I am a huge Sugar Pill fan. They produce loose and pressed eyeshadow shades that are full of pigment and bright color. Their creator Shrinkle knew exactly what bright color meant and what people were actually looking for. Knowing her high standards for outstanding quality I was excited to see if the Heart Breaker palette would hold up to expectation.

I will be doing a review for the new Heart Breaker palette very soon, and will try my best not to make this into one by moving on...

Here is my look...

O.C.C Garden Collection (Sping 2012)

I am extremly excited to say that Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics will be releasing a new Lip Tar collection for Spring/Summer 2012.

The collection includes 6 new Lip Tar Colors.
Cholrophyll (True Teal)
Belladonna (Ultra Violet)
Ophelia (Pink-tinged Lavender)
Baby Wood Rose (True Rose Pink)
Kava Kava (True Peach Neutral)
Pennyroyal (Tea Left Brown)

This collection is said to be released in March 2012. (Very soon!!) Lip Tars are priced at $13.50 USD.

I am excited about all the shades, however I will probably get the most use out of Baby Wood Rose, Kava Kava, & Penny Royal. With that said I think mixing Belladonna & Ophelia with other shades of purples & pinks will create some awesome colors.

Hope you have enjoyed your Febuary.

O.C.C Black Box

"Paint it black with OCC! In between seasons, make the strongest colour statement you can with the presence of all colours: true, unflinching, pitch black. For eyes, lips, nails and everywhere else your heart desires. A variety of textures from matte to gloss to metallic, including OCC Lip Tar in Tarred, its matching Nail Lacquer in Tarred, Pure Pigment in Black and its accompanying #006 Short Shader Brush (perfect for packing eyeshadow onto the lid), and introducing our newest Cosmetic Glitter in Obsidian, not yet available for purchase individually! Get grown-up, goth glam. Go back to black with OCC." (OCC Website)

Recently Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics has come out with a gift box set called the Black Box. It is filled with black goodies for that gothic look.

Right away when I heard about The Black Box I loved it. The name made me laugh and it's filled with dark goodies. I personally always loved black nail polish and always had black lipstick somewhere in my makeup collection. Plus not all companies come out with these colors so they can sometime be hard to find. Plus it includes a brand new glitter that is not being individually sold yet.

The Black Box is filled with a Lip Tar (Tarred), Nail Lacquer (Tarred), Pure Pigment (Black), Short Shader Brush, and a Glitter called Obsidian.

The Black Boxes will be sold for $49.50 US, and can be purchased on the OCC website.

I warn now that unfortunately due to shipping laws they can not send this box set over internationally. Only US. (It's because they can't send the nail lacquer in the mail.) :( :( :(

If I could I would grab this set. Can't wait to try Obsidian.

Peace & Luv

IMATS HAUL!! OCC: Nail Laqucer Review

A modern colour palette and formulation to match, OCC's professional quality nail lacquers are densely pigmented, quick-drying and super long lasting. Formulated with the Editorial Manicurist in mind, the result is lots of color using very little product for nails that are camera-ready just moments after the application. Available in Satin, Matte and Metallic texture and both Sheer and Opaque finishes.

I can't believe it has been a whole month and I am still trying to post IMATS Haul blogs. I am terribly sorry for the delay, and my lack of blogging. From mid November to the end of December always seems to be so busy for me starting with my birthday and ending with New Years.

Regardless I have something very exciting to share today. Being at IMATS and physically buying the product there, I was finally able to get my hands on some Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Nail Lacquers. Unfortunately going on Sunday, a lot of the colors had sold out on the Saturday. When I got the OCC stand I asked how many colors they had left. They said 3, and without really knowing which ones they were I said I'd take one of each.

O.C.C Nail Lacquer Sale!!

RIGHT NOW... like this very second. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics is having a sale. All nail lacquers are on for 50% off. Regularly they sell for $8.00, but are being sold for $4.00 a bottle.

They will be changing the packaging on all their nail polishes, so they are trying to get rid of the polishes with old packaging.

I imagine this sale will run while supplies last. Once they sell out I assume they will not be replacing them at sale price, so HURRY!!

Unfortunately my fellow Canadians O.C.C is no allowed to send there nail lacquers over the boarder via mail. If you wish to purchase, you would have to send them to a friend or family member in the states and get them from there. :( Sorry, I don't make the rules.

You can find all nail lacquers here... http://www.occmakeup.com/nails.html

Enjoy!!

The IMATS Toronto Experience 2011

Oh my, what a experience IMATS was this year...

2011 was the first year I was able to enjoy IMATS. Our day started out in the wrong direction, literally. Thinking that IMATS would be held at the Convention Center in Toronto that's where we headed at 9am. Once we got on the subway, we found that the subway was not running from Bloor to Union, so we were forced to get off and take a shuttle the rest of the way. Once we finally got to the convention center we realized IMATS was not there. My dumb ass took everyone to the wrong place!! It was being held at the congress center, much closer to home. (Go me!! Woot. lol.)

After realizing my tragic but kinda funny/frustrating mistake we headed back on the shuttle, subway, and highway to our real destination. Once we finally arrived at IMATS I was over joyed to see all the beautiful artistry, and products. I was also surprised to see that it was a lot smaller then the Hair Show. I also found a lot staple companies missing, that I had assumed would be there.

In my first 15 minutes of being there I had basically spent all my money. What a dangerous thing, and lesson learned. Save much further ahead next year. lol. Among the first booths I saw were MAC, Makeup Forever, Crown Brushes, NYX, NARS, & OCC.

Today's Look... Yellow-Orange Cat Eyes

Last Friday I did a look called Yellow Cat Eyes, which you can check out here. I had said that I did a different rendition of the same look and would post it later on the same day. Well, unfortunately I didn't post it on Friday, however I will do so now. I have cleverly (yeah right) called it Yellow-Orange Cat Eyes. (lol)

Here is what it looks like...
